Beginning on Monday, November 29, UTS will reinstate the bus stops located on McCormick Road at Garrett and Monroe Hall (these two stops have historically been known as the Black Bus Stop). UTS will serve McCormick Road stops after 6:00 PM and on the weekends for the remainder of Fall 2021 Service, and all day beginning with the switch over to Exam 2021 and Winter Service. Also, on Monday, November 29, the "Emmet St @ Ridley Hall" and "Emmet St @ Central Grounds Garage" bus stops will relocate ~300 feet southward in response to an upcoming construction project. UTS will operate Exam 2021 Service 12/8-12/17 (with the exception of Sunday, 12/11, which will run normal Weekend Service). UTS will operate Winter Service 12/20-12/23 and 1/3-1/18 (with the exception of MLK Jr. Day, which UTS will not operate on). UTS will operate UVA Health Commuter Service 12/27-12/30. There will be changes to the routings of Green Line and Gold Line during Exam and Winter Service. For more information, please visit: parking.virginia.edu/university-transit-service-fall-2021
Effective Monday, 11/29, UTS will return to standard front-door boarding and operate at 100% bus capacity (up to standing room filled). In accordance with University policy and CDC guidance, all passengers on public transportation (including University Transit System / UTS, Charlottesville Area Transit like the free trolley and route 7 bus, and Jaunt) are required to wear face masks regardless of vaccination status.
The stops listed above have been temporarily moved south approximately 300 feet due to construction. There are new signs in place to help you identify the new stops. Visuals can be found findyourconnection.org.
